This breaks.

This broke within days and dumped my laundry all over the ground. I eventually got a refund, but not without a lengthy debate with the seller.

All the lines!

This washing line has two sections that we extend to the top of the garden and back again, giving us a whopping 4 washing lines to choose from. The retractable line was easy to install, as were the hooks that came with it. I love that you can tailor and adapt placement and position to fit your garden size and needs. It is so handy to have a retractable line that disappears away when not in use to give you a clear garden. This is amazing value for money and so much better designed than the ordinary single retractable lines.I like that you have the little hook parts on the device so you can tighten up once in place and prevent sagging.Brilliant value for money for all the washing lines you could ever need and more!

Handy washing line with good built

This retractable washing line was easy to install, and it comes with everything needed to get it fixed to the wall. The twin lines provide plenty of drying space, making it possible to hang a full load of washing without feeling too cramped. The retractable design is practical because it keeps everything tidy when it's not being used, and it works well both indoors and outside. The cable feels reasonably sturdy, and it has handled everyday laundry without any issues so far.The lines can lose a little tension if they're loaded with heavier items like wet towels or bedding, so not much heavy-duty. The overall size feels bulky. The plastic housing feels functional rather than premium, but it still seems suitable for regular household use.Overall, it's a useful washing line that offers a simple and space-saving way to dry clothes.

Is good, but time will tell how heavy duty it is!

This is a good washing line with plenty of scope for a lot of washing.Relatively easy to mount, although I 'upgraded' from the screws & plugs provided. The retract is strong enough to work well & the unit looks ok. Also it is easily demounted from its fixing, if you want to take it in for the winter. The lines themselves seem a little flimsy, but i have had no issue with heavy items, like towels.Over all it is pretty good & I like the ability to simply remove a pin & take the unit of the wall. I cannot imagine that being outside for winter would do it much good. My previous line lasted about 4 winters.Recpmmended.

Review of quality of item

Retracting is good, line seems to sag significantly also the pins which connect the plastic casing to the metal continuously comes loose

Fine for tea towels, dusters etc. But my sheets ended up on the ground.

I didn't find it particularly easy to install. It feels and sounds a bit cheap and chatty and wrapping the line around the "feet" to lock the line in place only works for very light laundry.

Not tight

It’s good for ideally drying clothes in garden. The only drawback I saw was it’s not getting tight as required and when we lay clothes it’s getting more down towards floor.

OK for light use.

It's a handy washing line for short runs or light usage. The problem is the amount of stretch in the cords, it's also quite thin compared to a "traditional" washing line. I'm not sure that I would trust it with duvet covers or such like especially when used over longer distances as the thinness and stretch of the cord does not instill confidence that it won't eventually snap. The spool return spring barely has enough strength to pull the cord back into the casing, it does do it, but barely.Don't get me wrong, I think that this washing line design is a great idea and it would be ok for inside use or for a holiday apartment to dry your T-shirts, undies, etc. but definitely nothing heavy. I would also not recommend leaving the main unit outside indefinitely as I think UV rays and damp weather would make short work of the plastic casing and its internal spring mechanism. It's a shame because if it had heavier grade line, stronger springs and better fixings this line would truly fit its "Heavy Duty" moniker.I think that it has positives and negatives in equal measure so a score of 3 stars seems fair, especially in view of the price being around £15, I definitely would have been more harsh with the scoring had it been over £20

I Question How Durable This Would Be Long Term.

I think comparison to something else I have reviewed in the past of which is similar. I will add this doesn’t feel as heavy duty as the one I’ve used previously. Just simply by its construction its weight and the cord that is used. Though I’m not going to distract this from this product as they still in its own right works really well. It comes with all the necessary parts that you need to assemble this item and use it straight away. Including the hooks of which the lion can attach to. I do like the fact that this expands to full 30 m which is brilliant if you have a very long garden or outside space. The body is quite plastic in feel and sound and as I said before the chords are actually called and not wire like I have used in the past. This does make me wonder overtime will these become quite slack compared to whatever used before. It’s a case of pulling the line to the necessary hook and if you wish you’re lying to remain taught, especially over a shorter distance. You can wrap the cord around the 2 feet that sit underneath. This is quite a normal experience for me as normally you there’s a mechanism within the court that holds the line taught and I’m not used to wrapping anything around little feet. I personally think over winter this will need to be covered being made of plastic as those little feet could become brittle. Weight wise it is very lightweight and easy to install. I personally wouldn’t use this at home but it would be something I would take an attached to a campervan caravan or motorhome as I think feel like it is more suitable for occasional use rather than full-time. As of March 2026, this had a prize point of 1399 which I believe is quite reasonable compared to other products on the market.

Good

This retractable washing line is very handy for outdoor and indoor drying. The double line design gives plenty of space for clothes, and it’s easy to pull out and retract. Installation was easy with all things included, and the wall-mounted setup keeps everything neat and tidy. The lines hold a good amount of washing, and the plastic housing feels lightweight, though not as sturdy as some heavy-duty models. It works well for everyday laundry.Overall, it’s a practical, space-saving solution for drying clothes, especially if you want something that tucks away when not in use.

Washing line

I purchased this to replace a broken one that I had had for a few years but I am not sure if this will last as long. It doesn’t seem as robust as the other one and the line seems to sag more even though I have pulled it tight. It will be useful for light washing but I am unsure about a heavier one.

Weak washing line

The line is very weak and sags as soon as any washing is pegged onto it

Extended washing line

A reasonable clothes line, however it’s a bit of a faff to maintain a tension on the line to make sure the line doesn’t sag when washing sags during pegging out

Not fit for purpose. Cheap looking. Weak

Calling this “heavy duty” is an absolute joke! It is overpriced. Cheap looking at not fit for purpose. Returning and requesting a refund. First line did not retract. Second retract very weak and despite securing the line around the locks the line still sagged when attempting to put washing on it. Had to double secure it and even then was very weak. It feels as though it will snap with more than one use or a gust of wind! Not easy to use.Very disappointed.

Not great

Does not lock the line very well. Has slipped and all washing fell off every single time I have used it

Quality OK but...

The quality is fine. I fixed this to a concrete fence post and it's been working for a few weeks now with no issues. There's no quick release pin on the back like on some branded items but you can slide it up and off the screws if you want. The screws are at least mushroom headed so suitable for the product however they're not stainless so will rust fairly quickly even with the zinc coating and especially if you are removing it frequently. My biggest gripe would be the quality of the plastic. It's quite cheap feeling and hollow. I doubt it will last more than a couple of years at most whereas my similar branded product is still going strong probably 4+ years now.Similar comment about the hooks - not stainless so will ultimately rust. The line's appear to be plastic and and not lined that I can tell (with cotton or metal) so will stretch and probably fail in time. The image shows a woven line, but they aren't - just the cheap solid PVC stuff.Honestly it's fine but at this price point it doesn't really make sense as you can buy a very well known branded on for actually cheaper than this so for that reason I can't really recommend it.

Pracrical Double Line

Good length washing line with a total of 30 meters of hanging space. That's two lines of 15 meters each. Each line can be pulled out at a slightly differenct angle, giving plenty of versatility on where to run each line. Coomes with screws to fit the cartridge in place and hooks hang the lines on when extended. The lines themselves could retract back into the cartridge with a bit more "spring" to it as I think they feel a lttle too weak. But then again that lack of "pull" means its easier to extend them out. All in all not much to compain about though.

Slacks when putting washing on

The line is ok until you put washing on it, then it slacks a lotI’ve had washing lines like this before but this line material is way to thin

Durable

We've already had a minky washing line but it recently broke and thought we could try this as a replacement. Im very impressed it seems like better quality and a lot more durable than the minky one. It was easy to install and has plenty of space on the double line.

30m Retractable Washing Line (Grey)

Good quality dual retractable washing line. It has 30 metres of line to pull out. So it's suitable for large gardens and large families. It can hold a huge amount of wet clothing, big towels, and sheets. It arrived in good condition, and with all its fixtures and fittings, it's lightweight too, so it's easy to wall mount up. It appears robust and durable. Hopefully, it'll last us a long time.

Good

I needed to replace my old and worn out retractable washing line and this fitted the bill nicely. It's easy to install - well I assume so, my husband put it up - although he did say the screws weren't the greatest, but he used the ones from the old one anyway.I find it much easier to get the tension on the line by using a cleat that's screwed to the wall, especially because this retractable line does swing back and forth while you are tying it off.Everything seems sturdy enough with it but time will tell, especially as the end has a plastic loop on it to attach it at the other end and this may become brittle in the winter. Oh, and I would have preferred the end to be a hook rather than a loop as it meant I had to change my corresponding eye to a hook. It's taken several loads of washing without breaking, so it's all good so far.

Doesn't do the job

I wouldn't recommend this product as when the line is wrapped around the mechanism that's supposed to hold the line in place, it doesn't hold, the line just pulls out & you're washing ends up on the ground. Not happy at all with this product.
