Goes hairy (edges fray) if you leave without covering. Doesn’t seem to bother ivy however grows through it

I have bought membrane before and it was thicker. It comes on a convenient roll and is folded to 1m width.

Not a weed control product.

Don’t waste your money. I bought this in error, the previous one I bought is absolutely fantastic. This one is very poor quality, it frays as soon as you cut it so I’ve got ribbons of black plastic around the garden that (if not spotted) get tangled up in the lawn mower.The material is thin, doesn’t hold together well and within a few days grass and weeds had already grown through it - even in the places it’s doubled up so it’s definitely not up to weed control.

Easy to handle and cut to shape.

Appears to work exactly as described, easy to cut to shape. As expected it requires some weights or pegging to hold in position. I've used it on a few troublesome borders where bark alone does little to discourage weeds and topped it off with a decorative bark. So far so good with no obvious weeds breaking through although some attempts due to seed dispersion have appeared these are easy to remove as the roots have nothing to bond to.
