Just the job for spreading seeds etc in the garden. Easy to use and excellent value.

This purchase seemed like q good idea when I bought it, but used it one time and never used it since. Reall not much advantage found over seeding by hand.Bit pricey and perhaps better than nothing. OK but not great

Does what it says. Easy to use for a small garden

Bought this for the wildflower seeds I bought at the same time. It's really robust, good quailty and worked perfectly. Happy with purchase.

I originally questioned whether or not this would be of benefit when you can spread by hand, but this little device has ‘spread’ option holes to allow for different rates of distribution. The 4 in 1 I used said 35g/m so once you get 35g in it and guesstimate a sq. metre, you can weigh more, and spread further. I think it’s great for the money.

Used it to spread fertiliser. Good bit of kit. Going over seed in sept with it

This is a great lawn seed spreader.Very easy to use, unscrew the lid and fill with seed, select a hole pattern for how quickly you want them to come out and then shake it over the ground.I was very impressed with how easy this made getting an even spread.

I’m really impressed with this 1L handheld seed spreader. It’s compact but surprisingly effective, making lawn care so much easier and more precise. Does the job well but can be tricky to open at times

I have recently used this seed spreader on a garden renovation project that involved over-seeding and using granular feed twice. The spreader does offer different spreading options thanks to the different hole openings that allow to adjust the quantity I need to spread around the lawn. It was very easy to over-seed the lawn and then switch to a wider hole to spread the granular feed.The spreader is well made and the top part with the holes is easy to lock in or detach to refill the spreader. It makes spreading seed and feed easier and more controlled since it enables me to roughly see the amount I am spreading per square meter.It is lightweight and has a very easy and comfortable grip. In short, a compact and reliable spreader that helps with sorting the lawn without much guesswork. A good value product.

After decent ratings, I purchased this mostly to spread Evergreen 4 in 1 weed and feed, but I found that it didn’t spread as efficiently as I was expecting, despite trying the different settings. I’ll try it with seeds in a couple of weeks, so maybe it’s better suited for seeds.

The lid is difficult to get on and off. Also I can only use the biggest setting as seed gets stuck in the smaller holes. It holds a fair amount, although looking back i could have gotten something bigger ,I didnt realise how much seed I needed for my size garden. Great if you got a small garden and only needing to use once a year, however my poor garden needed a lot of work. But it does what it says, I just pour the seeds through the holes as the lid is a pain to get on and off

Great product, very useful for seeding and applying weed and feed moss killer. Good locking feature on the top. Simple to remove and replace when filled.

This handheld seed spreader is easy to handle and use even my six year old can do it.It has wide opening to pour the seeds k. And then you can turn the filter for the different sizes holes.Nice and sturdy and very decent quality and I think will last.

The green section of this spreader acts as a lid and twists on and off to allow it to be filled. It's a little stiff and was sometimes difficult to unlock. I used this to spread grass seed and at a suggest 30g/m2 I did have to refill this fairly often. The main difficulty is that the seeds kept blocking the holes so it needed a bit of work to ensure the spreader was level enough when it was shook as if you tilted it slightly then the seeds all fell too quickly and blocked the holes. This was with the largest of the three slots/holes, there was no way it would work with the smaller two and with the fourth it was basically pour it out with no control. There was nothing to indicate which size holes should be used or what spreading rate it might give, I guess partly because this depends on how much you shake it and how slowly you take it across the area. I did end up with what I considered to be a fairly even spread of seeds in the third setting, but with lots of having to shake the seeds back down again to stop them clogging. I felt especially given the difficulty with it clogging and therefore not being that easy to use that it was a little over priced but it did feel and look reasonable rugged and durable.

Perfect hand spreader for a small lawn.

I am finding this handheld lawn seed spreader brilliant and so easy to use. I have spent some while this year raking out moss from my lawn and this little spreader has been amazing ensuring that I get an even spread of grass seed to fill the bare patches in my lawn.It’s well-made and fits nicely in my hand and even when I’ve filled it with grass seed it feels balanced and controlled in my hand. I have had to play around with the settings to get the best fit for my coverage, but that’s not been an issue at all.I’ve found using the spreader so handy and the fact it can handle various other spreadable items, means it will get further use around the garden. It’s been a really good addition to my garden equipment.

Easy to use and well made and robust . Far better than just throwing grass seed at your lawn and hoping it spreads evenly. Useful thing to have..

We recently had to reseed our garden lawn and this was a very useful tool for the job. It's a pretty basic concept as it is essentially just a scoop that has a dial on the end which controls the rate at which you want it to spread seeds. It's a generous 1L sized spreader that can hold plenty of seeds and I only had to fill this three times when seeding our garden.It's very well made out of plastic and feels sturdy even when filled. It's lightweight, making this a great option for elderly gardeners or kids who like to help out in the garden! There are 4 spreading size options inside, ranging from free pour through to small holes for very sparse seeding. I didn't find the last setting very useful at all and opted for the 3 long holes option. I felt this ensured a steady stream of seeds were being delivered whilst simulatenously shaking the spreader. I definitely felt as if this was giving me a more consistent and measured approach to seeding compared to using the built in option on the lawn seed box itself. And I was also pleased to find that it wasn't becoming blocked with seeds.However, I think it is slightly expensive. Whilst it is good quality, designed well and made well, at £14.99 (at time of review), it is slightly overpriced. Overall this is a great item and we're pleased with it, but I think it could do with being a little cheaper.

For many years when spreading grass seed for a new patch of lawn I've always just used my hands. This approach works, but it's tedious and slow work to keep grabbing handfuls of seed, and the results are always patchy.This little gadget solves both problems. It can hold a litre of seed, which it spreads easily and evenly simply by shaking it. There are various types of holes on a dial for the seed to come out through, presumably for different types of seed. For the grass seed I was using I found that the three long slots worked best.It is made of high quality plastic, feels very sturdy, and looks good. The top section simply twists off to allow access to the main seed container, then clicks back into place.I would recommend this to anyone who needs to spread grass seed over any significant area. It will make the job much easier.
